compare :)

So... here is a picture of Luke & Heidi at their rehearsal dinner.

Click on it/enlarge it... look at what they're wearing...

THENNN... look at this picture!

Haha, see a difference?

In Kansas, Luke & I both came down for church, and I realized that we were wearing exactly what Hyde & Luke wore to their rehearsal dinner.

Yay for hand me downs from my older sister. :)

Remembering Grandma

One year ago today, Grandma went to her heavenly home. Although I(and the whole family) miss her greatly, we could never wish her back.

"There will be a day..." and I can't wait for that day!
LOVE YOU, GRANDMA!

A week on a farm

Wow, I really can't believe it's been over a month since I've written. I had to quick post this month so I could have a least one post for the month of July in my archives! :)

As most of you probably know, I went to Bern, Kansas a week after I got back from Mexico to stay with my cousin, Jill & Larry and their 4 kids. It was a very enjoyable week, and I just loved watching Jill react to her 100% country kids. :)

Jill & I

We worked a lot in the 6 days I was there, but one thing we never stopped doing was talking! We never ran out of things to talk about, either. I loved it! :)
Their darling family.

Heidi & Luke & Katie came out for the weekend for a wedding. It was so fun to have them there!

Me and the 4 kiddos. Kyle-11, Trenton-9, Brenna-6 & Kayla-3
(I hope I got those ages right?)

One of the things we did was snip beans. A LOT of beans. As we were snipping on the picnic table outside, I took this picture. It turned out pretty good with the tractor, so I used it for 4-H and I got a Superior on it! Yay for easy/cool still life photos. :)

Jill & Kayla, working on our 16 quarts of beans for the day.

Making the chocolate chip cookie batch we managed to eat in just a few days!

One afternoon, as I was cleaning up the dishes from lunch, I saw from the window,Trenton pulling his calf across the lawn. It was so cute!

Then Kyle brought his calf too (after trampling over the lilies in the picture). They were training them for 4-H, and here they are washing them up, with the girls "helping" them. It was very entertaining!

Kayla, ready to go swimming, and looking pretty stylish. ;)

Brenna & Kayla

The pool was a bit green, but hey, the kids had fun.

We also got to do applesauce while I was there. They do it in the garage though, which was super nice to not have the mess in the house!

Larry pressing cherries and making juice.

The weekend guests(H&L and Katie) arrived late Friday night. Saturday morning, we took Katie into the little town of Bern so she could go sightseeing. :)

While we were playing around on their huge playground(seriously! It's their pride and joy in that town), a tractor cruise came thru town. It was so cute!

Saturday afternoon, the boys were working on their calves again. They're a bit stubborn.
Saturday night was a singing, and then we went to Bern's fireworks. They were super impressive for such a little town! We stayed up pretty late, hanging out, eating, & talking.
On Sunday, we went to the wedding reception right after church, but headed home pretty much right away. It was just Heidi & Luke and I.... very nice and quiet. :)
It was a fun week, and I just love the gravel roads and the hills of Kansas.
Thanks, Jill & Larry, for having me and dealing with me all week! :)
