Dusting & Nightmare

So I was dusting a litttle bit today and my mom comes up to me and says,
"What's the occasion?"

"Mom, there does not have to be an occasion to dust!"

Mom, just so ya know, we do not have to be having company in order to dust.

****************************************************
Tonight I babysat. (I actually still am... the kids are in bed!) They settled down after a couple of nightmare hours... and this is why it was such a nightmare:
Have you ever had a kid:

put a cell phone in the microwave? In case you were wondering, it totally ruined it. And it smells terrible. I haven't tried to turn the phone on, but I'm pretty sure it won't work.

Or play with matches?

Or sprinkle glitter all over the place and then make even more of a mess trying to clean it up so there parents don't find out?

Ok, I'm going to stop there.... :) I must say I almost felt like crying at one point.

I love hiking

This fall our family has been into hiking. About a month ago, we went to Starved Rock. It was really pretty, but the trails were kind of a bummer. They had board walks thru the woods and steps going up the hill. It didn't really feel like hiking.

But just this past Sunday we went to Farmdale Park with some families. We ended up getting lost and had quite the adventure! We climbed up a really steep hill thinking it would get us back... but when we got up there we found out that there was no way to go but down. Later, we came to a really wide creek and we knew that if we got across it, we would be back to our vehicles. So we all rolled up our pants and took off our shoes & socks and waded thru the ice cold water. Thankfully it wasn't very deep!

I wish it would stay warmer longer so we could go explore more places! :)

Here's just a couple pictures from Starved Rock:
It would've been really pretty with the leaves colorful, but it was such a late fall this year, that they hadn't started changing yet.

What's the difference?!

Between white & yellow popcorn? I mean, seriously!

About a month ago, my mom asked me to pick some popcorn up at the store (not microwave). When I got home she was like, "Oh, you got yellow popcorn? Next time be sure and get white."

My dad made it just the other night and the first thing he said to me, "Who got yellow popcorn?"
"Me."
"Next time make sure you get white."

Well, guess what.... they taste the same to me!!!

What do you think makes them different?

I lost a game of settlers tonight :|

This was weekend was a good & busy one... and amazingly enough, I didn’t babysit at all!

Friday I went to Kendra’s and scrapbooked. I stayed all night, and the next morning we went shopping in Bloomington. Kendra didn’t have much luck, but I got few things. We got home kind of late, and rushed around to get ready to serve at the Eureka Benefit Dinner. As usual, we had to wait around forever and then the serving part only lasts 15 or 20 minutes. I went back to Kendra’s and hung out, and then went to U. John & A. Jeanne’s because some of Mom’s cousins were there. We kept one of them(and her daughters and granddaughters) overnight.

Sunday U. Ken & A. Sandy served... so we got to go Eureka! :P Again! But it’s not near as bad when Ernie & Lester are there. :)
We went out to eat at Sol Ez Teca Sunday night and then went to Grandma’s. She had a lot of people visiting her! (great to see ya, Aunt Sandy!)

Monday Laura & John were here all day. Every time I went out of Johnny’s sight, he’d say, “Wendi, Wendi, Wendi!” And my heart melts every time he says it. He doesn't talk much, and he knows "Wendi" out of all those other words! :D

DOG NEWS:
Missy went to a new home on Saturday. My cousin Jared & Sarah took her. They live on a farm and they don’t have kids, so I think it will be a good place. But we still kinda have a problem. Maggie is lonely and all she does is bark at night, so we have to put her in the garage. It gets really annoying.

So Friday I'm going to a cookout and we're suppossed to come in costume. But it also needs to be warm. I really don't want to buy anything... at least not much. If you have any ideas, leave a comment!

Yes, the title is true.... I was very dissapointed.. If anyone would like to play with me, come on over! Nobody ever wants to... :(

JENNA -17!!

Happy Birthday, Jenna! (a week late...)

So yesterday(Friday) I was going babysitting until 7, and I asked Jenna to come along. I picked her up, and when I dropped her off, she told me to come inside. Her dad told her to come up in her room... and when we did........ SURPRISE!!!! All her friends were there. :) She's like, "Wendi, did YOU know about this?" Yep, sure did. That's why I asked to come babysitting with me. :D She was verry surprised, and I'm glad she didn't find out. :)
We did a road rally, and then just hung out and sang High School Musical on the Wii. It was fun.... Hope you had a good SURPRISE birthday, Nenna!
Jenna,
There was so many pictures of us two, I didn't know which one's to use! :)

My turn

So I've been tagged. I really don't know what to share as my facts about myself, but here it goes:

1. I need a lot of sleep... I'm not really a night owl, and I'm def. NOT a morning person. If I had to choose one, I would def. say I'm more of an night owl... but not always. Sometimes I'm the first one to go to bed in our family(besides dad). I need about 10 hours each night to really feel rested up. And I love naps. I guess I'm a Schick. :)
2. I cannot stand pop. It just amazes me that people say how they can't live without their polar pop or whatever. Now, Coffee, I can see! But yeah, I've never been a fan of pop/soda.
3. I love the piano with a passion. I absolutely love going to the music store and getting a new book. I pretty much collect them.... my current count it 61, all in the basket of my bedroom next to my keyboard. :) That's just the books that are my level... I have another basket full of books that are too easy for me.
4. I have naturally curly and wavy hair(comes from my Dad!). I straighten it a lot... but when I'm in a hurry or lazy, I let it go curly.
5. I LOVE hugs! If someone gives me a hug, it pretty much makes my day. I even have a shirt that says, "FREE HUGS." But it seems like not very many people take the shirt seriously. : lol
6. I love kids\babies....and I'm always hauling them around in church or just playing with them. Jessica always tells me I'm gonna be too worn out by the time I have my own. :) Every time my friends see me with a kid\baby, they just roll their eyes.
7. I'm one of those people who make their bed everyday, even though they're going to sleep in it again that night. I haven't always done it, but I think I'm kind of turning into a neat freak. My room is always picked up, too. (it used to never be that way!)
I wanted to come up with some really random and weird facts, but I didn't feel like thinking that long, trying to come up with some. I don't really want to tag people, but I'm going to tag a few: Katie, Linds, & Luke.
Honestly, I'll be surprised if I see them actually do it! :)

Applesauce Day

I am now totally and completly sick of it. Even the smell.

Today Jessica(& kids), Lynette(& kids), Heidi, and us did it this afternoon.

We did 6 bushels of applesauce and we had a total of 115 containers.
With 15 people here.
It only took 6 hours.

I mostly helped with the kids, and didn't help much with the apples... and it was a little crazy at times(especially lunch time!) and the house is kind of a mess... but it was kind of fun. :) Makin' memories, I guess. :)

Johnny can now say my name! :) I feel so honored. :D

So, that's all that is new with me.
The weekend wasn't real exciting... I pretty much just babysat.

Hope you all have a good week!!

lackadaisical

......was one of my vocab words this week. I have never heard of it before (no surprise there, I'm terrible with words), but everyone else has. I think it's such a cool word... so fun to say! Just in case you don't know what it means:
lackadasical - showing little spirit or enthusiasm.
