Restaurant Reviews

:) Yep... that's going to be the new thing for my blog!

I always read them in the newspaper, and I think every time I read them that I would LOVE to write restaurant reviews. Because I love eating out.

So now for fun, I will be writing them on my blog. Not very often do I try a new restaurant, but occasionally.

Time for my 1st one! :)

Tonight we went to Sicily's Pizza in Washburn.
If you don't know where Washburn is, it's North of Metamora. It takes us about 25 minutes.

I had never been there before, but my parents had, and they raved about it. My uncle always goes there in the Fall while they're harvesting, and also raves about it.

When we arrived, we seated ourselves in a big room, with just one other couple there. The decorations are just kind of random, but kind of Italianish because the people who own it are from Italy.
There was definitely not much atmosphere. It really would have helped if there was some music.

We ordered an 18", regular crust with sausage, garlic, onion and mushrooms. We only waited about 20 minutes.
For an 18" it was $14.95, plus $2 for each topping.
It was good pizza, but nothing spectacular. I couldn't taste any garlic, and there weren't many onions. But the sausage was good, and I was so hungry that anything tasted wonderful. :)

Three of us ate a 18", but we ate a lot and overstuffed ourselves. It's pretty filling, even though the crust is fairly thin.

It's a nice little "Italian" pizza place, and everyone was very friendly. My Dad loves it because they used the old ovens.

I really would recommend trying it if you're up for going for just the food, and to support a little hometown restaurant. Which is kinda fun, I think. :)

I actually could taste the garlic quite well - I think I burned out your taste buds with my hot salsa.

Restaurant reviews! what a great idea! Your first one is great. Not sure I'm up for the trip there though. I would recommend trying 2Chez in Peoria, Pioneer Park area. It is quite good and the chef is Dan's nephew, Todd Hohulin. Can't wait to read your future reviews.
