Pictures!

Well, I'm just on this new computer messing around.. trying to download new pictures.
When I should be going to bed.

But anyways, I decided to put up a few pictures from this weekend, even though I didn't take many.

Lydia, Elise, and I ready to be waitresses for the evening on Saturday

Todd & Kandi

I love Kandi's grin in this one. :)
Little Miss Audrey is just oh, so sweet!

Some family...
Daddy's Girl.
Todd & Kandi telling two of the kiddos goodbye. I love how Hailey is pretty attached to Todd already. So cute.

Yep, that's all I've got for you.
Enjoy!

Weekend.

Well, here I am for my weekend post. It's belated because of all my things due on Tuesday, and then I just totally forgot about it.
But anyways, I will begin with Friday.

Friday I went to work in the morning, and decided I would study all afternoon/evening and then go to Kendra's for the night.
But, I had a really hard time concentrating and I just sat at the kitchen table rambling on and on to my mom.
After not getting very much accomplished, I decided just to go to Kendra's. Her family was gone for the weekend, so she had some friends over. We did what we all do best, talked/chatted.

Saturday morning we had our bible study. Of course we have to have coffee with our bible study, right? Let's just say even though I wasn't actually downstairs watching Ellie and Michelle make the coffee, I could hear every word they were saying, and boy.. was it entertaining! Not only did they have quite a difficult time, but the coffee ended up being weak, too.
:)

We did the bible study pretty early Saturday so that I could still go to the pumpkin parade with Lynette. :)
It was a sad day though because it started pouring on the parade. We did get to see Eric in the Jr. High marching band(woohoo Eric!) but that's about it, and everyone began to leave. I was soaked when I got home, and of course the rain let up as soon as we did get home.

Saturday night was my cousin Todd & Kandi's rehearsal dinner. It was at the fellowship hall, and my mom helped do the food and I was a waitress. It was kinda fun. I've always wanted to be a waitress.
They had a singing afterward, which I went to. I was SUPER happy to see Kristin there. We of course quickly got caught up with each other. That girl has more energy and I just love being with her! :)

Sunday was Todd & Kandi's wedding. It was really neat and touching. I played the piano at the reception... as usual.
Some of you might not know Kandi has 3 adorable kids. Preston, who is 5? told me that "today was a really busy day!" Yes it was little guy. :) It was cute to see them hug their mom and new dad goodbye as they were leaving. Although I'm just a cousin now to those kids, I'm looking forward to getting to know them.

Sunday night my family got to go to Benj's birthday party, but I had to stay home and study.

So yea, that was my weekend. It should've been filled with more studying, because I probably failed one of my tests.

Have a wonderful weekend, and I'll be back Tuesday with info on this weekend. :D

Thanks for listening to me.

update on who knows what

To get back into this writing habit, I should just start with writing about my weekends all the time. I think I'll do that.

But for now, I'm just going to ramble about all sorts of random stuff before I began my absolutely crazy week.

  • 26 more days until I become an aunt! I really hope little Bridget isn't a couple weeks late. I kinda feel like this is going to be my own kid. I just keep getting more and more excited every single day. :) I can't wait to spoil her.

  • Last Saturday, a few friends and I began a weekly bible study. We call it a bible study, but right now it's more like a book club. :) We began reading "Mere Christianity" by C.S. Lewis. It's very deep, but I like it. A lot. All we do is read a chapter or two, and discuss it. I've never done something like this before, and it's kinda neat to do with some of your best friends.

  • School is.... going. I guess. I haven't been graded on much yet, except for my homework, so I don't really know how I'm doing. I'm doing the bare minimum in every class. Not good. Especially when you have two tests in one day. Let's just say I have sooo much studying and homework this weekend. And the whole reason why I am updating my blog, is because I am procrastinating my studying. Yep, that's how I work. :)

  • I'm not sure how all this studying will get done with my cousins wedding this weekend, and also the pumpkin parade, which I cannot miss. :) My friends were making fun of me that I wanted to switch the bible study on Saturday morning because I wanted to go to the parade. Hey, I haven't missed that parade in 18 years, why I would I miss it this year? :) Although I'm not a huge fan with the festival, because I hate anything pumpkin(except for pumpkin muffins) and I certainly do not like rides, I DO love the parade, and it's definitely a tradition I cannot miss. Next year, I am certainly taking little Bridget along for a bit more entertainment. :)

  • For English we had to write a paper on our dream job. What was mine? Something I never guessed it would be, but the more I think about it the more I find it true. So what is it? Elementary Education. Craziness, I know. It's a very achievable goal, so I don't know why I'm not doing it. Maybe I should switch my major. I think I really would, but I hear that it is really hard to get a job in elementary right now. And I think it kinda always has been. If you know otherwise, let me know. :)

  • Fall is my new favorite season. I love everything about it. The cool fresh air is perfect for long walks and cookouts. I love hot cider & coffee, the colorful leaves, scarves & vests, sleeping with my window open every night, and everything else fall comes with. It's such a beautiful season.

  • I think I would put pictures on this post if I could. But I can't because we got a new computer, and all our files and photos aren't transferred yet. It's soo nice to finally do your homework on a computer that doesn't take an hour to turn on.

  • hmmm. What else is new with me? Not much, really. Just praising God for all He has done for me in the last few months.

I hope you all have been doing well. Thanks for reading my forever boring post. I guess this is how I de-stress. :) Be looking for updates after the weekends. :)

HAVE a wonderful weekend!

hhmm.

Wow. I didn't do a single post in August.

I don't have much time to post at the moment, just wanted to let you know that I'm alive.
I guess.

School started last week.
I have pretty good teachers, which I'm thankful for.

I'm really not as overwhelmed as I thought I'd be(at the moment), but I know it's coming... it's only the second week and I haven't had any test's or anything yet.

I'm really busy with stuff besides school, which makes it hard to get the homework done. I guess I'll get used to this 6hr of sleep thing each night.

Or, I MIGHT just have to cut down my social life. Yeah, that's something that is a pretty high priority at the moment. :)

So yea. I can't promise you many posts, but you never know, I might surprise you every once in a while. :)

Love you all!

compare :)

So... here is a picture of Luke & Heidi at their rehearsal dinner.

Click on it/enlarge it... look at what they're wearing...

THENNN... look at this picture!

Haha, see a difference?

In Kansas, Luke & I both came down for church, and I realized that we were wearing exactly what Hyde & Luke wore to their rehearsal dinner.

Yay for hand me downs from my older sister. :)

Remembering Grandma

One year ago today, Grandma went to her heavenly home. Although I(and the whole family) miss her greatly, we could never wish her back.

"There will be a day..." and I can't wait for that day!
LOVE YOU, GRANDMA!

A week on a farm

Wow, I really can't believe it's been over a month since I've written. I had to quick post this month so I could have a least one post for the month of July in my archives! :)

As most of you probably know, I went to Bern, Kansas a week after I got back from Mexico to stay with my cousin, Jill & Larry and their 4 kids. It was a very enjoyable week, and I just loved watching Jill react to her 100% country kids. :)

Jill & I

We worked a lot in the 6 days I was there, but one thing we never stopped doing was talking! We never ran out of things to talk about, either. I loved it! :)
Their darling family.

Heidi & Luke & Katie came out for the weekend for a wedding. It was so fun to have them there!

Me and the 4 kiddos. Kyle-11, Trenton-9, Brenna-6 & Kayla-3
(I hope I got those ages right?)

One of the things we did was snip beans. A LOT of beans. As we were snipping on the picnic table outside, I took this picture. It turned out pretty good with the tractor, so I used it for 4-H and I got a Superior on it! Yay for easy/cool still life photos. :)

Jill & Kayla, working on our 16 quarts of beans for the day.

Making the chocolate chip cookie batch we managed to eat in just a few days!

Kayla Rose

One afternoon, as I was cleaning up the dishes from lunch, I saw from the window,Trenton pulling his calf across the lawn. It was so cute!

Then Kyle brought his calf too (after trampling over the lilies in the picture). They were training them for 4-H, and here they are washing them up, with the girls "helping" them. It was very entertaining!

Kayla, ready to go swimming, and looking pretty stylish. ;)

Brenna & Kayla

The pool was a bit green, but hey, the kids had fun.

We also got to do applesauce while I was there. They do it in the garage though, which was super nice to not have the mess in the house!

Larry pressing cherries and making juice.

The weekend guests(H&L and Katie) arrived late Friday night. Saturday morning, we took Katie into the little town of Bern so she could go sightseeing. :)

While we were playing around on their huge playground(seriously! It's their pride and joy in that town), a tractor cruise came thru town. It was so cute!

Saturday afternoon, the boys were working on their calves again. They're a bit stubborn.
Saturday night was a singing, and then we went to Bern's fireworks. They were super impressive for such a little town! We stayed up pretty late, hanging out, eating, & talking.
On Sunday, we went to the wedding reception right after church, but headed home pretty much right away. It was just Heidi & Luke and I.... very nice and quiet. :)
It was a fun week, and I just love the gravel roads and the hills of Kansas.
Thanks, Jill & Larry, for having me and dealing with me all week! :)

I'm Off!

Well, tomorrow morning I begin part 1 of my summer traveling. :)

I'm spending a week in Wisconsin with some of the Pfaff family. It's always so relaxing and fun, full of: Fishing, water skiing/wakeboarding, long walks, food, shopping, sun, etc. etc.
I just love to fish... I sure hope it's better than it was last year.

Then, Micah & I come home a day early by ourselves, and we leave for Mexico the next day at 4:30am. It's been a little crazy trying to be packed for both trips before I leave. I'm very excited but maybe a tad bit nervous about MX. :) But, I know it will be an aamaazing trip and I can't wait to experience it! I've been down there before, but just to stay with U. Bill & A. Joan... it wasn't a work team. The dorms will be different/interesting for me! :)

So, no blogging for a couple weeks. I'm kind of looking forward to two weeks without a computer/internet. I could have it in Wisconsin if I wanted to, but I really do enjoy the time away from it! It's good for me.

I'm sure I'll have pictures to show and stories to tell when I get back! Check back in a couple weeks! :)
