Blessed

Just thought I'd let you all know that I'm still alive. However, I'm not sure what I can promise you as far as blog posts in the coming months. They will probably be very few and sporadic. I kind of have a lot higher things on my priority list at the moment! :)

But for now, everything has kind of been put on hold as I'm in California for a week with some of my best friends.
It is so so beautiful and relaxing. We're staying with the Wagenbach's which is just a blast. Today was our second day on the beach. :)
I'm so glad I was able to come. Great bonding time with my friends, and I needed some relax time. But at the same time I am getting kind of lonesome for home. :)
Daniel was gone in Mexico and we had no contact but some email for 5 days. Then I left for California before he got back. I don't want to sound pathetic or anything but it was kind of hard. Just getting to know him and then it was suddenly cut off. But now that he's home we've been able to talk on the phone and we're at least in the same country now. :) My poor friends, I'm probably driving them nuts, disappearing for hours at a time. :)

Anyways, all I can say is God is good and providing as always. I feel extremely blessed. Even though it can be overwhelming to think what needs to happen in the next few months. Not just with wedding plans, but preparing for our marriage. But God has shown me so clearly in the last few weeks, I know He will continue to be there for the both of us as we start this new journey! I know because we are following His will, He will continue to bless us as he already has!

Engaged!!

Engaged is what I am! :)
His name is Daniel Leman, and he's a pretty amazing guy.
God has been so so faithful to both of us in our lives, and especially during this time.
All the Praise & Glory goes to the Lord!

I will be sure and write details possibly at a different time. But a verse that has meant so much to me lately:

Ephesians 3:20
Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think according to the power that worketh in us.

This is truly what God has done in both of our lives in the past month!

I'm still here!

So you probably think I fell off the face of the earth.
But I'm still here! I can't believe I didn't do one post the entire month of April though. I think that's the worse in however many years I've had this thing.

I'm still alive and I will be posting more frequently would be my guess. Because I am officially done with school... Forever! Praise God!

Also what's new...this week I started my full-time job at the same accounting firm I've been interning at. I have a lot of responsibility, but I enjoy it. Alot. So thankful God provided this opportunity for me.

So there's my short update. Hopefully I'll be back soon. :)

Brooke's Wedding Weekend

(Just a note.. I blogged this forever ago but never posted it for some odd reason)
A long time ago.. was Brooke's wedding weekend in Princeville. I went up Saturday night for the singing before the wedding by myself. I've never driven there before.. ridiculous I know. But I didn't even get lost. Yay me :)
There was a ton of people I knew there. I stayed with the Berchtold girls, along with 9 other girls, mostly from Oakville. Oh my it was fun. I haven't laughed so hard in a long time. Their family has 6 girls and were entertaining themselves too.

Although it was sprinkling and lightning out, we all went outside and rode the 4-wheeler & mini dirt bike.

Their darling sisters!!
The whole group of girls on Sunday morning

Brooke & Kory. So in love, so cute.
Group of girls with Brooke.

So yes, this is a bit late, but it was a wonderful weekend. So far just 2 down from the Florida trip!

More Socializing

If any of you know me very well, you know that socializing is near the top of my list of priorities. :) I'm almost always doing something. :)

One thing I forgot in my last post that I did during spring break was hanging out with these girls!
Katie came for just a few days, so on Saturday us 4 went out for lunch at One World. We only had a few hours but it was fun as usual!
Oh how I miss our little girl sleepovers.. especially when they were at Grandma's house and we would play Dr and eat junk food. :)
After One World we did a bit of shopping and Sweet CeCe's. Jamie had never been there and she filled it to the top and was quite thrilled with her purchase, while we all just watched her. :)

Last weekend Kendra W came and visited me. We met on Saturday to go shopping and for lunch, and she surprised me with a whole host of girls, including Meredith K! So 5 of us shopped & had lunch.
Saturday night we went to testimonies, had the young group over after, and then all of these girls spent the night.

Me, Meredith K, Kendra W, Amber E, Olivia S, & Lynelle B

Let's just say Saturday night was a short night of sleep. These girls crack me up though.. they kinda just carry each other on because they all know each other so well.

Sunday morning came way too soon. I had to drank extra coffee for church/baptisms on Sunday.

Kathy, a good friend from school last year, was supposed to come to church on Sunday for the baptisms. She got sick though and couldn't make it. I was so disappointed! She was able to come to my baptism and I have only met her for coffee once since she graduated. She could be my mom, but I get along with her so well.

Sunday afternoon/night we babysat Bridget & Carter. After dinner we went to U. Tom & A. Carol's with their family for the evening. It was a little hectic with all the kids, but good as usual.

So there's a few updates for you! 2 posts in 3 days. :) Probably a record!

Spring Break 2012

Spring Break came and went already. And it went by way too fast.

Some people go to Florida for spring breaks, some on a mission trip, some do nothing but sleep in. I on the other hand, got less sleep during my spring break than I normally do. I was either working or teaching lessons all week. In the evenings I did some stuff with friends and did no homework, which was nice and a plus.

My excuse for no blogging? Well, I'll blame it on the tax season. I'm currently working 20(sometimes more) hours a week. I know it's not that much, but it is with school and teaching in there too. I'm just gonna warn you that this time of year will probably lack posts, because after all I am an accountant. :)

Spring break in pictures:

This wasn't exactly spring break.. it was before. But I went out to Busy Corner with these 2 girls and then went to church with Kristin.

To celebrate spring break, Larissa, Brittany and I went to Sweet CeCe's.. a frozen yogurt place, for lunch. Yes. We literally had frozen yogurt for lunch. I put granola and strawberries on mine though so it couldn't have been that bad, right? Brittany and I work together at the accounting firm, so we go out for lunch pretty often. And sometimes Larissa joins us too. :)

The weekend my spring break was ending, we had a girls night with these girls:

Kristin, Kendra, Me & Shelly

We started off with dinner at Biaggi's. Talk about good food! It was also the strangest experience as far as our waiter went. I'm pretty sure we giggled everytime he left our table.

Because it was a beautiful evening, you'd think we'd do something lovely outside, right? Well we went ice skating. I'm not sure how it came about, but it was great. It's been years since I've done that.

Darcy came and stayed with me for the weekend. She joined us for the ice skating... I think we all had fun. Even though it's kinda the Junior High hang out it seemed like.

After skating, we maybe cruised around town in Kristin's convertible. Yep, I felt like a high-schooler again. But it was my first time in a convertible, so I had to get the experience. :)

I had a picture, but I deleted it accidentally. Whoops.

After dinner, ice skating, and a cruise, we went hot tubbing at Ron & Kary's. Haha, yep. We crammed a whole lot in one night. But it was super fun.

So that was Friday night that Darcy came. Saturday we had planned that we were going to learn how to sew, ALL by ourselves. I've sewn a lot in the past, but I'm pretty sure my mom helped me with every single step. So I felt like a beginner again because of that and it has been years since I've touched a machine.

Our 1st project? Aprons. Darcy said she had a pattern, so we used that. It was only a half-apron which doesn't seem super practical, but hey it was less to sew. Which was good for our first time.

Darcy started hers first and it was kind of the experiement apron. Poor girl, it didn't exactly turn out the best. But hey, the patchwork look is good too, right? :)

Us and our aprons. :) The hard thing with these was that they were reversible, with different fabrics on each side. Not a smart idea for a first sewing project. You can see every seam.. and how terrible we did ours.

I did figure out the sewing machine out myself, which I was pretty proud of. I may just have to ask for one for my birthday this year..

Saturday night we went shopping and back to Sweet CeCe's. Sunday she left after church. But it was great having her for two whole days... when I wasn't stressed out or anything!

And that ends my Spring Break. My LAST spring break ever. I only 6.5 or 7 more weeks of school. Oh how I'm so excited!! :)

Internship Project

For my internship class I had to create a bulletin board with another classmate. It was supposed to be a group project, but there's only two of us in the class so it was just us two. WE got to do more work, but it didn't take as much time as I thought it would...

..so if you happen to be passing thru the halls at ICC, check out my bulletin board near the Cafe. :)

Speaking of school... I'm kind of on a 3 week break. One more easy week of school, then spring break, then another easy week of school.
Why are they easy weeks? Because my hardest class has been crazy for the last month with never ending work... and now I guess we get a bit of a break from it. Yay! (The class, which is Intermediate Accounting II is crazy, but the teacher makes it even more :/)

I'm so excited to get more than 4-5 hours of sleep each night for the next three weeks.

Oh, and what am I doing during spring break? It's a break from school, but I get to work 40 hours that week instead of traveling. I don't really mind that much I guess. One good thing is I'll be making money instead of spending it. :)

Bridget & Carter

It's been awhile since I've posted any pictures of my most adorable niece and nephew. :) Nothing new, except they are still super cute. Carter coos and giggles and Bridget talks/jabbers non-stop!
Mr. Carter did great when us girls took a shopping trip to Woodfield mall!
Reading books with "Papa"
On Friday mornings or afternoons I usually go to Heidi's to spend some time with kiddos, since I don't usually see them during the week. It's so fun to just hang out there for a few hours and eat lunch with them at the end of the week. I've been taking Bridget to the store with me too when I go. This Friday wasn't any different... Aunt Wendi and Bridget had quality time together. :) And we maybe stopped at Culvers on the way home. :) Which is why her mouth is a mess in this picture, but still so cute.

Helping herself. This girl loves her sweets and not much else!
And Mr. Carter.. so sweet and smiley. He always gives you a smile no matter what, and giggles more at this age than Bridget ever has!

So there's an update on my life as an Aunt. :) It's too fun. Bridget now knows all of our names and every time she comes over she points to all of us and calls us by name. And gives us kisses. And if one person gets a kiss, everyone must get a kiss. She's always making her rounds. So cute! :)
