Restaurant Reviews

:) Yep... that's going to be the new thing for my blog!

I always read them in the newspaper, and I think every time I read them that I would LOVE to write restaurant reviews. Because I love eating out.

So now for fun, I will be writing them on my blog. Not very often do I try a new restaurant, but occasionally.

Time for my 1st one! :)

Tonight we went to Sicily's Pizza in Washburn.
If you don't know where Washburn is, it's North of Metamora. It takes us about 25 minutes.

I had never been there before, but my parents had, and they raved about it. My uncle always goes there in the Fall while they're harvesting, and also raves about it.

When we arrived, we seated ourselves in a big room, with just one other couple there. The decorations are just kind of random, but kind of Italianish because the people who own it are from Italy.
There was definitely not much atmosphere. It really would have helped if there was some music.

We ordered an 18", regular crust with sausage, garlic, onion and mushrooms. We only waited about 20 minutes.
For an 18" it was $14.95, plus $2 for each topping.
It was good pizza, but nothing spectacular. I couldn't taste any garlic, and there weren't many onions. But the sausage was good, and I was so hungry that anything tasted wonderful. :)

Three of us ate a 18", but we ate a lot and overstuffed ourselves. It's pretty filling, even though the crust is fairly thin.

It's a nice little "Italian" pizza place, and everyone was very friendly. My Dad loves it because they used the old ovens.

I really would recommend trying it if you're up for going for just the food, and to support a little hometown restaurant. Which is kinda fun, I think. :)

Happy (belated) Birthday, Jessica!

Her birthday was on Monday, and I felt honored I got to go out for lunch with her!

Jessica- Thanks for always letting me stay at your house, hang around you all the time, letting me use your pool, and taking me along with you on vacation.
Don't know what I'd do without your family!!

Fun Times

Last weekend, I stayed at Jenna's Friday night, and Saturday morning we did the P-fest run/walk together. No, I didn't do the 6 miler, but I wish I could! It was only 2 miles, and we ran almost all of it.

Here we are looking bright-eyed and cheery after very little sleep. :)
(aren't our shirts lovely?)

We took the Sauder kids along with us so Jeff & Chelby could do the 10k. They acted like the stroller was a pain to push while running, but it really wasn't.
We went and ate some breakfast, and then headed to the parade. Sorry, no pictures!

A couple weekends ago I had some friends over for a Campout in our backyard. It was quite interesting, but very fun! :)
Me, Michelle, Ellie and Kendra.

Jenna Cox came for a little bit. :) Her & Kendra collecting the firewood.

Thanks to Shelly for getting the fire started for us!!

We ate, talked and ate until the wee hours of the morning. :)
We slept in a 4 man tent, which I thought was going to be quite crowded... but it wasn't too bad. We were all freezing, so it was nice to be a little tight. :)

Trying to get the fire started Saturday morning.
We made our scrambled eggs over the fire. I think I put too much oil in the pan... so they tasted kinda funny. But other than that they turned out really well!

And thankgoodness we didn't get attacked by the mountain lion.

FUN TIMES!!!!!

What's Up

So a few new things I haven't blogged about that maybe you should know. They're not exciting, but yeah..

--This Fall I started cleaning congregate living by the church. It's only every other week for 3 hrs or so each time. It can be kind of a gross job, and I think my knees are going to get old when I'm still young. But I clean with Kendra and it's kinda fun.... sometimes.
I think. :)
Actually, I really don't mind it. But I think sometimes we do more talking than cleaning. :D

--Orchestra started in August!! I never posted about the BIG shocker! .......

I got in 1st violins!! Which is quite a surprise, since I thought I'd be way in the back of 2nds. But I'm 8th chair out of 11 in FIRSTS!
The music is kinda hard, but o well. It makes me practice more.
Sorry to those who know nothing about orchestra and don't know what the seating stuff means. (If you'd like me to explain, I'd be happy to :)

--I started teaching violin lessons! I teach Miss Carli Leman and it's a lot of fun. Maybe cuz it's something new and interesting. I don't know, but I'd love to take more students. And piano students too, if anyone is interested!! :D

A few random things.

-I helped bale hay for the first time. But I got the easy job; driving the tractor.
No one has had the patience to teach me, but Phil did. :) Thank You, Phil!

-I love this weather. It is absolutely perfect for walking\running. I actually really enjoyed the summer weather so much since I wasn't able to go to the pool much anyways. I think my new favorite season is Fall, though. It's just so wonderful!

--We had our first "Pfaffmann Cousin Night" tonight. We had a cookout here. It was fun, but I must say.... it was kind of a lot of work! I didn't take any pictures. But we ate, played v-ball, ate, and played other games.

--I didn't go to the Pumpkin Festival.
I know, some of you probably can't believe it. But I don't like anything pumpkin, I don't like rides, and I was too busy anyways. I did run past it though! :) Yay for the P-fest Run! (pictures coming...)

--I'm gone all the time, and I can barely keep up with my schoolwork and such.... but I love it!! (except when I'm so exhausted and I have to go go go anyways)

I love always having a little "schedule." :)
I know, I'm weird.
Mom always said they should've named me "Wendi Go" instead of "Wendi Jo." :)

Anywho, I have lots of fun pictures to post. So maybe sometime this week, since I'm thinking it will be a little calmer than usual! Which I'm kind of excited about.

Thanks for reading, and so sorry if this post bore you to death.

Love ya'll! :]

Summer Plans... Not As Planned.

Most of you remember this post about my Summer Plans. Well, they didn't go quite as I planned. :) But not necessarily in a bad way.

--#1 was do nothing and spending some of my time doing whatever I felt like doing.

I think I got plenty of that. :) Maybe too much.

--#2 was spending a lot of time at the pool.

HA! Yea right! For one it was way too cold this summer. Two Phil & Jessica had to repair their pool. Three I was gone half the summer. I think I went there maybe two times and Splashdown twice. So much for my summer tan...

--#3 was going to Wisconsin. Well I definitely went to Wisconsin... twice! I'm so glad I got to go with the Schick family because that was probably once in a lifetime thing. :) I'll probably be too busy after I start college..

--#4 was to go to Kansas. That didn't happen. It probably would have if it wasn't for Caleb's wedding. Anyways, Adam & I really want to go this fall. But who knows... ?

--#5 the 4-H Fair. It was good, but I was kind of bored because none of my friends were there much. BUT.. I got State Fair on my PHOTOGRAPHY!! Of all things! I was pretty pumped about it. :)

--#6 going out east. We did that, plus went out west (as you know from all my posts..) It was good to get away... since I haven't been gone enough this summer! ;)

--#7 doing bookwork for the Fehrs. I of course did that....somewhere in between all my vacations. :)

--#8 piano and violin lessons and also teaching piano. I had a few, but had to cancel a lot of them. And I didn't teach one piano lesson this summer except for one in June. I hope they didn't forget everything! ;)

--#9 babysitting. I didn't do that much because I was so busy. I wish I could've done more!!

--#10 was my goal to ride my bike to town or to Kendra's or something. I definitely got to do that! I biked to Heidi & Luke's, all the way to town in Eureka, Jenna's in Morton, and to Grandma's and back. But not all in one day. :) Still... I can't believe I biked that much!

--#11 organize this house. That definitely did not happen! But it is now because we're cleaning out to put stuff on Grandma's garage sale. Which is next weekend... so we've been kind of crunched on time.

--#12 finish some school. Yea, I don't think so. I don't know why I even put that down, because I don't think I really ever thought I was going to get anything done.

So that is the end of my list! One thing I didn't put down was hang out with friends. I didn't do a whole lot of that, but Katie was here for a long time, which was fabulous!

fyi, i started this post last Saturday and I'm just now finishing it. So don't expect more than one more per week for a while. :)

But you never know! I might surprise ya! :D

Out East -- The last post :)

Alrighty. Here's the last post on our trip. I promise I'll start blogging about something more exciting after this. :)

This is where we stayed:
such a quaint and cute place!
The Pool. We went swimming every day.

We went out to eat every night, which I loved. :) This was by far the BEST! It was a very unique Mexican Resturant. aka: REAL Mexican food. With Fish tacos and all. :)

ICE CREAM! :)

Since we stayed at a Bed & Breakfast we ate Breakfast there every morning. :)

Hanging around town.

We left Saturday morning for Connecticut. It was only a 3-4 hour drive.
That night we went to a supper and singing.
Sunday was Toby & Holly's wedding!
They're so cute together...

(These pictures are from the photographer: betsyphoto.blogspot.com)
We left Monday morning and made it home in 17 hours! It went by pretty quickly, really. But maybe it had something to do with sleeping almost half of it! :)
